Hello everyone,

Just wondering if it's possible to get rid of a user on the login screen? I have a 'remote' account for other people to access my dropbox, but I never use it to login. Can I remove this user?

Cheers,

Are you talking about removing an account on OS X? If that is the case, you'd go to System Preferences > Accounts > and then click the account you want to remove, and hit the "-" button.

Whoops, I didn't make that clear. I meant I want to hide the user. I still need the user for remote reasons, just want to hide the user from the login screen.

Thanks,

An option you could use inside the Accounts of System Prefs, is: Display login window as a Name and Password field. Then both accounts are hidden. Or since you are the only user, just turn the login window off from the same panel.

Use sudo

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HiddenUsersList -array-add user
