I know that stupid WD have an unreachable partition and there is no way to remove it (damn, is that even possible??? no hacks? no force deletion possible?).
Anyway, I updated the firm and tried to hide the WD SmartWare with the VCD Manager for Mac. No luck.. What if I updated the firmware as stated? While choosing the appropriate driver, the vcd manager pops up me a message that I am not able to remove the WD SmartWare because... my firmware is not the last one!!!....
Message:
"You cannot configure your WD SmartWare VCD with the current version of firmware on your drive. Please update your drive with the latest firmware, and then configure your WD SmartWare VCD."

Huh? What can I do to make it way please!...

ps. I tried to update the firmware for 2nd time and there was a warning: "Your firmware is the latest one". No need to update...

Doesn't WD have a utilities app (may be downloadable at their website) that can delete the SmartWare partition...?
