Does anyone know the specifics behind T-Mobile's free international roaming? My wife and I will be traveling abroad to a few different countries this summer and rather than fumble around with getting a local SIM in each one, and then inevitably needing to re-up my credit on each one, I figure we can both get T-Mobile a few days before we leave, activate it, and then travel for two weeks without ever needing to pay anything more than the cost of a one-month T-Mobile family plan.

That was the advice offered here, but I'm worried about T-Mobile's fine print, which states
Not for extended international use; you must reside in the U.S. and primary usage must occur on our U.S. network. Device must register on our U.S. network before international use. Service may be terminated or restricted for excessive roaming or misuse.
Does anyone know exactly how they measure that?

Also, I can't seem to find the pricing plans for the add-ons that allow for continued 4G speeds abroad after using up the initial allotment, since I believe the speeds pretty quickly kick down to 2G when roaming abroad.

Thanks for any help!
