Get the current 3G iphone or wait for the new Summer iPhone?

i haven't really found that much info on the new iphone, just some rumors here and there.

so should i buy the current 3G iphone or wait for the next one to come out? what's the likeliness of the 3G dropping in price...? and by how much...?

thx for the suggestions!!!
 
We don't know anything about a "new" iPhone. Apple may or may not release a new one this summer. Only Apple knows whether they will. I THINK that they might, but we don't know details. Just buy the 3G one if you want it. If you need the phone, just get it.

I would wait, there is surely something better coming along...sometime :rolleyes:
 
Isn't it funny

All these posts, regardless of the product, are ALWAYS the same:

Should I buy (insert your product) now or wait for the next one.

Ans:

1) Whatever
2) Wait
3) We don't know
4) Buy

If only the lottery were this predictable :p
 
if your perfectly fin with the phone you have I would wait because your going to be stuck for two years or have to pay another $400 in a few months to get the phone you really want
 
For iPhone I'd say buy now. High resale value. Unlike computers you need a contract to buy the iPhone which many either don't want to or can't do. Therefore as with my 4GB I was just about to sell. A year and a half later after getting I can still get back what I paid for it. Was going to sell a couple days ago but I don't want to start a contract.

It's not every going to be pay another $full price in x months unless you always keep your old phones. iPhone sold without contract is worth more then iPhone with contract.
 
Hey guys! Um, I was just wondering, I really need a car right now, but I've heard rumors that they come out with new cars every year, so should I buy one now or wait until next year?
 
call me a douche all you want but i honestly hate these threads. should i take a crap now or wait til later? dude do what you want. regardless, if you wait til the next big thing you'll be waiting forever.
 
But to be fair to the OP, sometimes it really does matter. If you don't know much about computers and release schedules for processors and such, it's good to ask.

Saying that, this is a phone. :eek:
 
It depends what you want from the phone, if you are going to get the most out of the app store or itunes then get it, your not going to be entirely sure when the new iPhone is going to come out anyway....
 
It's pretty obvious that a new iPhone is on its way, and the chances are, it'll be June/July time when it finally arrives.

If you have no patience or your current handset is broke, then get the 3G iPhone now.

Otherwise, just wait.
 
I'd wait till June. It's only a couple of months away...

I wonder if they did bring a new Iphone out whether us existing Iphone 3g customers will be allowed to upgrade again and start a fresh new contract.
 
Look at it this way. The last 2 iPhones were released at approximately the same time of year. This year will most likely follow the same schedule.

Are you willing to wait that long?
