Get Unlimited Data from Verizon and Keep your Number?

So my current vz account has an unlimited plan and I have a tiered data plan. I was able to select unlimited iPhone at checkout because my account has one unlimited plan. I'm thinking since this new line will have a new number and the tired data plan has a phone number I want to keep can I just port my number on the tiered line to google voice and attach that to the new unlimited line if everything goes through?

Why not have vzw swap the numbers between lines? I do this all the time on the MyVZW website. Only time I needed to contact a csr was because my g3 and iPhone 5s had different sized SIM cards.

how did you swap the numbers between lines on the verizon website?

if that is not possible I could port to google voice and then port back to vz...
