havent checked the drag option yet, but even if it would work, it would remind me of the dock where all the icons up there are links and not the actual apps, so nothing important would be acomplished since you would delete just an icon... what do you say?

I'd say I thought that's what you wanted to do.

In the System prefs under "User" or "Accounts" (dont know what exactly it is called in english OS X) you will find a tab that says "Startup Objects" or something like that. There you can deactivate the startup of Stuffit.

you must mean "login items" right? thanx my friend

Arne, i was wrong i thought it would be it but checking it today, this wasnt the solution, any other ideas?

Isn't there a custom install option not to install Stuffit Menu? Pretty sure there used to be that.

ok guys, i got it, i deleted if from the start up items, i thought that checking the checkbox would do the job, but no, i had to delete it from the list and all is fine, thank you everyone! ;)

Have you tried to two finger click the icon on the menu bar? Sometimes a small option menu drops down from the icon with the option to remove it from the menu bar. Worth a shot..

Nevermind, you figured it out :D
