I have a late 2008 MBP and I've been getting a lot of system hangs recently in Windows. Or whatever it's called when the whole screen freezes and the last .2 seconds of audio loop over and over. I've had Windows XP x32 and Windows 7 x64 on this laptop and the same thing has happened on both OSs. I haven't had any problems in Leopard. I told some other people and they thought I might have some bad RAM. But Memtest found no errors, and I still got the system hangs when I tried using each stick of RAM individually. I've also tried both the drivers that come with Leopard and the drivers that come with Snow Leopard.
The system hangs have usually happened when I'm playing videos in Media Player Classic, but have also happened when using Firefox and WinRAR. They happen about once every 2 hours if I'm playing videos. I play Team Fortress 2 as well but I've never had a system hang while playing it though.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
EDIT: Using RivaTuner to force a constant performance mode seems to have solved my problem.
