If one goes to Apple online store (say here), and scrolls down to the bottom of the Mac Pro page, one would see this:

(Hint: 3rd bullet down-- yes, it would appear a new KB would be included.)

Though it says Apple Keyboard... I have heard that it comes with the old keyboard? Can anyone verify?

Of course it comes with A new keyboard, but is it THE new keyboard?

The problem is that Apple isn't very descriptive other than saying "Apple Keyboard." If you are buying a stock Mac Pro, I would say you have a good chance of getting the old keyboard.

The old keyboard is better. The "new" one is more of a novelty. I can't type as fast on it.

personal preference, whenever I use my iMac with the old keyboard it feels very clunky and far too big. I prefer the new ones.

If you have actually used the new one you would know it is much better. i had my doubts but I decided to order one anyway and it is great. When I use a different machine that has the old style keyboard it feels strange.

WAIT!

Has anyone mentioned that you should wait a month or so and get a Harpertown Mac Pro -- roughly twice the power for roughly the same price -- or buy overstock of the current Mac Pro (Clovertown) at a steep discount?

Seriously, this debate has raged on and on in other threads but unless you absolutely NEED a new comp pronto, then wait.

I agree, that was a pretty useless post. All signs point to you getting the older style keyboard, for better or worse.

My roommate just bought a Mac Pro Quad 3 and it came with the old style keyboard. I doubt they will come with the new ones unless 1: you custom order it, or 2: you get the new Mac Pro whenever it is available.

Of course, custom ordering it might not come with a new one either. Anyone custom order a Mac Pro after the new style keyboard was released?

Yeah, I can't believe it took 12 posts before someone even mentioned this. Way to be on top of things:D Definately wait if you can, it will be well worth it in the long run.

When do you stop waiting? When the new one comes out, there will be another one just around the corner. Should you wait for that one as well? Bah... if you want a Mac Pro, buy a Mac Pro when you are ready to buy. Waiting for the next best thing is a waste of time... there will always be a next best thing.

Besides, when is it going to be available? Next week as some have suggested? Next month? January? Some time next year? No one here really knows, so waiting could mean months if not more. Just buy the stupid thing and accept that it will be outdated as soon as you get it, no matter how long you wait to buy.

The worst thing about the new keyboards is having to press the fn key to activate the function keys in the same way you do when you are using a laptop. For me that is a big problem.
