Hey everyone. I've been waiting for the new iMacs since the school year began in sept and theyre finally here. I'll admit though, they're not quite as improved as I expected and i almost regret not just buying back in sept.

anyway, i was hoping i could get these questions answered before I finalized my specs

1) Processor speed: they want $150 more to go from 2.93ghz to 3.09ghz; is this jump even worth it? seems like an almost negligible jump in processor speed to me, but admittedly i dont know enough to conclude that on my own

2) Video card: how much better is the ATI card than the GT 130? I noticed theyre both 512MB of GDDR3 memory, and the ATI benchmark is faster on the apple description page, but honestly that benchmark means nothing to me, its arbitrary. Is the ATI card worth the extra $50 and possible extra 3 week wait for delivery?

3) RAM, if i want to upgrade to 8gb of ram, can someone link me to recommended third party ram? obv im not gonna pay apple the ridiculous $900 for it (after student discount)

4) I was really hoping we'd have the quad cores by now but thats obviously not the case, with the impending release of snow leopard, arent' they optimizing it for quad cores? If thats the case, wouldnt buying an imac now put everyone at a disadvantage?

thank you for your help, if i think of anything else I'll post it here.
