So I am converting my wife to get a Mac, so she is getting my old one (only 3 months old) and I am getting the new Macbook :) So here are my questions..

Since they are both Macbooks with the 160 gig hard drive, would I just be able to swap the hard drives with the old Macbook and new Macbook and since they are both OS X Leopard?

If that can't be done can I use an USB cable to transfer from the old to the new?

Now my current mac has my name on it all and I don't think it can be changed (In the finder under "Places" it has a spot w/ my name). So I am thinking the only way to fix this is to put the reinstall disk that came with the computer so it's like new?

Any ideas or suggestions?

I did find this about transferring from Mac to Mac.

Thanks

The new Macbooks actually have a slightly different build version of OS X. I wouldn't recommend you just swap the drives.
