I thought everything was great when I moved my speakers across the room to free up some space on my desk, until I tried to watch a movie. Any ideas how to get the system sound to go to the AE and then to my speakers?

There's Airfoil for sending audio from apps other than iTunes, but it won't help your situation. The latency inherent in the AirPort Express playback makes it unsuitable for video.

Some people have had limited success by tweaking the delay of the video stream in conjunction with Airfoil, but it apparently takes a lot of trail and error. What video player are you using? Most people have had success with VLC and a lot of tweaking.:D

Luckily the AUX cable to my speakers is long enough to reach across the room (dorm rooms are tiny) so when I'm watching a movie or TV, I can just string it across the room.
