Ok, I had Leopard, I did a clean install to Snow Leopard, I am unable to use time machine to restore the mail.

Can I just re-add the accounts and it will download ALL the mail for the life time of those accounts?

Kind Regards

If the mail is still on the server, it should be able to redownload it.

I did a clean install as well. On Snow Leopard, I closed Mail.app, and then copied /Users/me/Library/Mail from the backup of my old machine over to my Snow Leopard machine. Next time I opened Mail.app, my old accounts + emails were all there.

I want to do that, I made a backup of that folder but it doesn't seem to work for me!

If quitting Mail.app, and copying over both the plist and the Library/Mail folder (and subfolders) doesn't work, I'm not sure what the next step would be. :(

I wonder if you get free AppleCare with the Snow Leopard purchase?!

You do get 90 days free phone support for the OS :p

However I've got it working with the plist file over :p
Thanks!!!!!

Kind Regards
