Getting call log from iPhone backups?

Is there any way to extract the call log from iPhone backup files? I found the iPhone Backup Extractor but don't want to install all the libraries it needs. I looked at PhoneView but it is kind of expensive for my limited needs. Any suggestions?

I lost all the calendar entries to an iPhone a few months ago and all the apps I found that were able to pull calendar info from a backup could also pull the call log.

The bad news is that all of these programs had limits on how much information you could extract from the backup before you had to buy it. So unfortunately, it looks like you'll have to buy an application to do that.
