I had just gotten a Canon CanoScan LIDE 20 USB scanner that belonged to my late grandfather. But I have been having some trouble trying to get it work with my 2012 quad-core Mac Mini. I tried using these, but they wouldn't install on macOS 10.12 Sierra...

Then I found more recent versions that DID work with Sierra...

I installed them, and restarted the Mac, but it still wouldn't find my scanner. I'd go into System Preferences and into "Printers and Scanners" and try to add it, but it wouldn't show up in the "Add" window (in Default).

I know the scanner isn't broken or anything, as I was able to get it with with a trial version of VueScan, but I don't know if I want to spend $40 on the program right away, and I think it may be easier if I just am able to scan via Image Capture or Preview.

Any help with setting up this scanner for Sierra, please?
