I'm wanting to use my new (2010 actually) 27" iMac for TV in my home studio. Doesn't need to be amazing, just relish the thought of getting rid of the big old 27 TV and AV boxes that are taking up space.

I've been using the Roxio software and connector shown here, for archiving some old vhs and 3/4" tapes

http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/easy-vhs-to-dvd/standard/overview.html

This has the right connections for getting the video and audio into my mac, but it's designed to record, and then play back, and when it records, it's in a small box, you can't change the size of it.

I know Elgato and Belkin make solutions for this kind of thing, but many of them require HDMI outputs, and my Directv box doesn't have HDMI. Plus I already have the Roxio converter cable that goes from component to UBS (which I prefer because I use the minidisplay port to drive a second monitor for my work).

Anybody know of software solution for taking this audio/video that's coming in thru USB, and displaying it full screen, or as big as possible?

Thanks!
