Hi,

Later on today I will be picking up my new MBA to replace the one that died a few years ago (been slumming it on a Sony Vaio).

Now the problem is. When my old MBA died (the logic board went) I broke it up for parts and eBayed it to get some money back. But did keep hold of the hard drive. Now I want to get the data off that old hard drive. The MBA was one of the early ones and have no cables just the hard drive it's self.

I am guessing there is something I can buy to help with this but any one have a idea of what and where I can get it from ( I am UK based)

Also I had a few program's on there (IE mac office and photoshop) how easy it (if at all) to install them on my new machine from the old hard drive

Thanks

Was it a 2007 or late 2008/mid 2009 model?

If 2007, you'll need to get one of these:

If a 2008/2009 model, you'll need one of these:

You install the hard drive in the enclosure, and then hook it up via USB to transfer your data, and even gain a nifty, though a bit small, external hard drive.
