this might be a dumb question but is it possible to get the educational discount and free ipod if you go to an apple store rather than ordering online?

i'm itching to get my new macbook pro and i don't feel like waiting 2 weeks to get it delivered.

Yep, you just need to have a college ID (or acceptance letter) plus a driver's license.

The free (up to $199) iPod deal and free (up to $99) printer deal are both mail-in rebates that take 6-8 weeks to return the money to you.

I'm on staff at a charter school that doesn't issue photo IDs. If I buy on line and they audit me I can get a letter from the Director as back-up. What would they want in the store besides my honest face?

I don't start until sept but never mind...If they don't discount software I may as well use the online store.

I got my MBP and free ipod+printer at the local Apple retail store with the education discount. I didn't have any school ID's or anything, I just used their computer to log into my school's website and printed up anything with my name on it. Didn't even have to be registered for classes.
