Getting Exchange email to work in Apple Mail

I've got my work's email on both my iPhone and iPad using Exchange, but I can't get it to work on my Mac Mini using Apple's Mail program. Our IT guy said it won't work. Any tips? Seems like it should work. What makes the Apple Mail program different than the iPhone/iPad's? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Has anyone got this to work on there mac mail, 10.6.
I too have it working on iphone 4.0 ios....but noty on mail on new intel laptop..
anyone....
