Hi-

I guess the title says it all, the g3's running os 7.

i'm trying to get some midi files from finale 98 and also some other random stuff, a few pictures, some audio files, I think that's it.

I don't have access to a 3.5" disc drive other than the swappable one that goes with the g3....

is there some way to network them with the ethernet or something? pre-OSX doesn't have a target disc mode or anything like that, does it?

Thanks!

What model G3 Powerbook do you own? I ask because some have two Firewire ports.

If you can connect your G3 to the internet, might I suggest opening a G-Mail account and uploading some of your smaller files that way. Simply e-mail to yourself and download on your new Macbook.

thanks for the response,

it's the "wall street" powerbook, so no firewire ports.

i hadn't even thought of trying to connect it to the intertubes, the last time i tried to do that it was so slow that i could barely get it to run, but if nobody has any other ideas i'll give it a try.....

whoops, it's actually os version 8.5

i've gone through the set up on apples site, but still can't get it to work....
