Getting files off Windows XP Computer with Leopard

Hello,

I've setup my new Macbook Pro on my network through a wired ethernet connection. I've setup file sharing on both my PC and my Mac, and enabled the SMB on my Mac. However, no matter what I seem to do, my Mac cannot see my windows folders.

I need to get all my files off the computer but the fact this doesn't seem to be working is an issue. File sharing between my iBook (with 10.3.9) and the same PC worked fine but not so much with the MBP (10.5.2)

Any suggestions?

Are your Mac and PC on the same Workgroup they will not show up otherwise. Often Windows XP is defaulted with MSHOME and Mac OS X is set as WORKGROUP.

Try file sharing using both AFP and SMB

thats what this says: http://macs.about.com/od/macwindows/ss/sharemacfilesxp.htm but it's also for 10.5.5
