I was having computer issues and eventually had to wipe my hardware clean. I put in my original 10.4 disk and that is the version that is currently on the computer, but when I tried to install the new itunes it said I had to have 10.4.9, how do I get to that point. Do I need all the recent updates and how do I get those?

Do they appear in software update? Top left apple button, software update.

EDIT: Beaten to it, by a better answer!

Yeah I did the software update and it was not available. I tried the combo update from the site and I got the "codec overun" error. What does that mean?

Is internet Sharing turned on?

Go to preferences -> Sharing -> Internet Sharing. If it's on, you'll need to turn it off and try downloading again.

Other possibilities: there may be a bad interaction with your router, or a firewall on that router needs to be disabled.

In any case, the "codec overrun" issue is definitely network related:

And I'd bet it might be the source of the issues you were having that required a reinstall to begin with.
