Getting HP 2159m for my Macbook - what peripherals will I need?

Once I get the 2159m for my Macbook, I plan to get a cheap Mini Displayport to DVI-D (Dual or single link???) Also, since there are built-in speakers in the 2159m and DVI does not transfer audio, how will I get the Macbook audio to the built-in speakers?? Should I just get a mini Displayport to HDMI adapter instead (I plan on using the hdmi port for my 360, though)? Will I need anything else? The Displayport adapters are rather short...I won't need an extension?

So,

HP2159m
Mini Displayport to DVI-D (single/dual??)
+ What will I need to transfer audio?
or
Mini Displayport to HDMI

Anything else I'm missing? Also, do I need male or female cableS?
