Okay, so I have around $2000 in PayPal, and I would like to go to an Apple store and use it. I have the PayPal debit card, but it's not in my name, so I can't use it. I could transfer it to a credit card, but that takes 3-5 days and everytime I've done that in the past it's screwed up and I've lost money. So, is there any other way I can do it? Through gift cards, I don't know. Any ideas?

No, it's in my dad's name, but he's out of town.

My paypal card is in my dads name to but i still use it. No store checks I.D. for credit/debit cards anymore so it works out. And on the slight chance they do i just use it as a debit and all is fine again.

just transfer to bank account. you won't lose money. if you do you can get it back. or go pay somewhere and get cash back a few times

Hmm... that might work. Anyone else done this?

i used to work in a shop, all be it a clothes shop, and people never check the card they're using. maybe different with such a expensive purchase, but who knows.

any chance of just waiting for your dad to come back out of town? or buying apple giftcards online with the debit card?

Just came back from the Apple store - they wanted my ID, and they let me use the card even though my name isn't on it.

maybe different in the uk, but i didn't have to show any ID. although i suppose i did show a letter proving i was going to be a student, which had my address on and stuff.
