Getting into .DMG & .ZIP files

Hi All

Got some files I downloaded in zip & dmg format but they refuse to open.

Is there a way I can get into them ( I remember that holding down ctrl key when clicking on some files would let you see their contents, but this isn't working....).

hmm they are probably corrupt or password protected?

try right click> show package contents

That doesn't work on ZIP or DMG files as they are flat files, not packages. What do you mean by "refuse to open"? Is there an error message displayed?

SOMETIMES SAYS " Can't Open", sometimes " Not Recognised ", and with DMG files sometimes " Can't Verify "
