I don't have Apple TV but to have Amazon Fire boxes on every TV (newer Samsung 4K TV's). How can I share pictures and videos that are on my Macbook Pro to a TV?

The easiest way is going to be an Apple TV. You can use any Apple TV to extend your desktop to the TV over the network. If you can't do that, then these are the options I can think of:

  1. Direct wire your Mac to the TV via HDMI/DVI using whatever cable is appropriate for your situation.
  2. The Samsung TV might be able to pull files from a Windows share. Turn on file sharing on your Mac and use the TV interface to browse and view the files from your network share..
  3. I know the Samsung TV will support DLNA as a way to view media. Get a DLNA server program for your Mac and share the media that way.

You can get an app called smart view links Mac,iPad and iPhone to Samsung TV
