getting iphone 14 pro, should I upgrade my current phone to ios 16?

I have preordered and Iphone 14 Pro, Should I upgrade to the new IOS on my current phone before I receive the new phone, then restore. Or should I just leave my current phone as is and just restore from a backup once I get the new iphone. Or does it not matter?

That depends on how you are transferring data. If you are using the itunes or icloud backup, then it is not needed per say. If you want to use the option to "Transfer" where you scan the blue dot, then the old phone needs to be on iOS 16 by the time you want to transfer.

Update now. Back up. Use newest back up on i14. This is what I've been doing for years.
