Getting it early?

So i had to order my new MBA from the online store as its custom ordered with 4gb of ram.

its sitting at a destination sort facility about 20 miles away from me. The expected ship time is next Tuesday at 4:30 PM. It is now (for those reading this post elsewhere) Thursday 9 AM. As far as Ive observed the "at destination sort facility" is the last step before "out for delivery". What are my chances of getting this early?

Theres always a chance, I would be noisy and see if I could call up the place that delivers them...

A call would be your best bet. I don't see why they wouldn't let you come and get it.

I just got an email from my college mail sorting facility and its here apparently. That is quite strange because tracking shows it as still in NJ and not even "out for delivery". Well Im about to go and see what is going on over there.

Yes that was it. Tracking still says its in NJ though and i know i didnt get it shipped express. How strange...

Anything could have happened, misread barcode, delay on the system... - fantastic that it has arrived though! Enjoy!

Apple has done this before with shipping before the first release date. I bet your package sits there until the expected date.

A call may work, but you'll have to call the facility.

as much as i appreciate the reply, if you read above, i got it already about an hour after posting this

What size did you get, how do you like it?

the 11 inch. I had it before this but I got the base model initially and it had only 2gb of ram which I felt needed an upgrade.

I love it, better than my previous laptop. I use it for browsing, playing world of warcraft and Word processing as well as app development. The drop in speed from my previous machine was very unnoticeable (2.4 c2d to 1.4 c2d) and the graphics card is better in this thing. Its very light so very easy to move around.

That's interesting that you didn't notice the drop from 2.4 to 1.4. I thought it'd be noticeable, especially when gaming and such.
