Greetings!
For my birthday, I was gifted an M4 MacBook Air with 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of Ram. I currently have an M1 MacBook Air (8/512) and M4 Mac mini (16/256).

I haven't decided if I am selling my MacBook Air M1 yet, or keeping because of all the memories I made with it.

I am wondering what I should do with my Mac mini, since the MacBook Air M4 will likely be my primary Mac.

My current primary Mac is the Mac mini, however the MacBook Air will have more storage...

What should I use my Mac mini for? I initially got one because I needed a new MacBook but could not get a new one at that time.

I am an Xcode programmer and a YouTube video editor.

Any creative uses for an extra Mac mini?

I also have an external 2 TB SSD attached to my Mac mini at all times.

„creative“ as in „if you have kids and a few centimetres are missing for them to reach the soup bowl from the chair they‘re sitting in“-creative? 🙃 Seriously so: the mini will for example be faster in everything which requires compute over longer time intervals - the MBA will throttle down in these scenarios to protect the hardware

I’m considering this option, but not sure yet. For me, the Mini would be utilized for heavier tasks over a longer period of time (video and photo editing, etc.), along with tasks that are easier to do on a larger screen (indesign, etc.). The Air would be relegated to simple photo editing and administrative tasks.

If you are already searching for a use case and cannot find one yourself maybe there is really no benefit to keeping it. If you cannot answer the what-for question why keep it. Sell it or gift it to someone in need.
