Just a thought....

You might find it easier to use the crossover ethernet cable, and plug the PowerBook directly into your router's wired LAN port to get it started.

See if you can establish a -wired- connection first.

And then.... "upgrade the connection" to wireless.

(Perhaps you've already tried this...)

The thing is my room is way too far from the router in my house.
