I can't seem to get my ipod to down load a movie i've got in iTunes.

I've ripped a DVD with Mac the Ripper and then used Handbrake. I can watch the movie in iTunes but when I try to sync with my ipod nothing happens! Do I also have to "convert selection for ipod" within iTunes?

make sure in your ipod summary page in itunes you have it set to sync movies.

You probably didn't use the correct settings in handbrake. The iPod can only play videos that are encoded in a couple of very specific formats. itunes can play a larger spectrum of differently encoded videos.

The best thing to do is to rip the movie twice. First time if you want a full-size rip in MacTheRipper. The second time for iPod only use Handbrake Lite and it will automatically create an iPod ready mp4 file from your movie. Using Handbrake is okay if you know the exact settings to use to make an iPod-ready file.
