Hi..

I am selling my MB. I just formated it and installed some software. Now, how can I get the system back to the welcome screen? so the buyer can have the new-machine feeling.

ETA: I am talking about this:

You can't. You'll just have to sell the software with it, or make a copy.
OR just leave it as is, and tell the buyer to change it him/her self.

If you have 10.5, you can make a Time Machine backup and then insert the installation disc. Then choose "erase and install." Once that's done, click through to the point where you can restore from a Time Machine backup. The welcome video will play at some point after that, and just hold the power button until it shuts down after the video starts. Then it will come up on the next boot with everything from the backup.

Just to make sure, all the software with it is legal, right?

I'll try that and report back..

I remember reading a while ago that this can be done without the need for Time Machine, but it seems I can't find that thread.

BTW, I only installed free software.

Thanks
