So I am buying my 2.4 MB tomorrow, what else do I need? I'm a photo student so I have Photoshop, I am also picking up iWork 08 and a case as well as a damage plan from Best Buy. later I'm going to upgrade to 4GB. Anything that I am missing? I'm pumped to get it!!

Don't get the warranty from Best Buy!

They'll do everything they can to get out of honoring it. If you want an extended warranty, just get AppleCare.

Best Buy is notorious for lying, scamming, cheating, etc. to get out of their obligations. Go read the consumerist or search archive.org for the bestbuysux.org archives.

In fact, if you can, don't buy anything from Best Buy. Go to an Apple Store or other better retailer.

i just got the incase sleeve which is great...lotsa padding. I have an external display at home here which i use everyday and something you'll need most likely. And deff. a mouse. I have a logitech v220 optimised for laptops and it works fanasticly. Other than that your good. Great choice!

... Best Buy has helped me so mucha lot of stuff, like my camera. 2 years old, and I dropped it and cracked the lcd on the back. I brought it into best buy and I got the new version of the camera. with out paying for anything. I like there warranties a lot. My brother has applecare and he doesn't like it at all.
I have a desktop already so if I need to, there is my extra screen. The mouse is a good idea, and I have a portable 160gb and a 500gb hard drive so I'm set for that. I'm ready and pumped!:D:D:D:D

Congrats, you'll love it. :D

yeah best buy honored my ipod nano replacement plan pretty well. they replaced my defective nano on the spot, no questions asked.

Just some stuff i also plan on getting

-Incase Hardshell
-Palm rest protection (especially if you get white to prevent "possible" discoloring and dirtying - mine doesn't have it. :D )

i already have the incase nylon sleeve w/handles. its great. slim and its all furry in the inside. lol.

Don't buy Applecare until like month 11 after purchasing. Keep your cash until it's time to buy Applecare.

Applecare

If you wait to purchase the Applecare you lose telephone support after 90 days. IMHO that's a significant support.
Buy Apple Care from Amazon or LA Computer, it's cheaper.

Good luck,

Oz

I'd suggest a nice Crumpler backpack. I only used the basic backpack for my MB (before it became largely housebound due to a dead battery), but I recall seeing some nice bags with additional specialized storage areas for photographic kit (as well as a built-in laptop sleeve) on their website.

Congrats on your purchase :)
