Getting old contacts from mdbackup files

Does anyone know how to get old contacts from an mdbackup file?

I thought I had lost these contacts but I have an old mdbackup file, and looking at it in TextMate, I can see the information is there, it's just not in any structured format that I can understand.

Does anyone know how to convert this into a readable/usable format?
