OK, so i have an older HT receiver with no HDMI [its NAD so im not going to replace, cant afford!!] anyhow, so i can run hdmi to projector, and optical to HT receiver. Buying the new MBP 15 base, this new thunderbolt port has me a little confused. I know in the past you needed 2 cables to acomplish what i need. But my understanding is that you can now hook an HDMI up to thunderbolt and get A and V out. HOWEVER..i need them seperate!! IS there a easy "cheap" way to get hdmi and optical out of new MBP! Yes i said cheap, which for you audiophile haters out there is a sin with good AV stuff..however, i am about to spend 2000 on a laptop, so be gentle :)

I'm pretty sure that just refers to HDMI, as there are no HDMI audio splitters I know of.
Can't you just use the HDMI, then get a DVI adapter (Which your receiver might have) and connect it that way, then use digital for audio?
