In anticipation of new phones coming from Verizon tomorrow I had a few questions.
Is it good idea to switch my current SIM card to new phone or is this not necessary?
Do I need to updated to new IOS then do back up since the new phones will new IOS?

Thanks

What iOS are you currently on?
No need to switch SIMs, you’ll get the activation fee regardless since you order with Verizon.

I'm on the current 12.4 I think. Thanks on sim didn't know if it made the activation process easier putting my old sim in, yea they get the activation fee no matter what. LOL

I think the only way you won’t be able to restore backup is if the backup is made on a higher iOS version, 13.1 for example because the new iPhone will probably come with iOS 13. I would update anyway but you should be able to restore regardless.
