I'm looking into options for getting rid (selling) of a high-end printer, specifically, an HP CLJ 8500DN. I poked around HP's site to see if they did buybacks for refurbishing, but I couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any ideas (besides eBay?).

I'm going to check out Amazon Marketplace now.

Folks on this site would be interested in a several thousand dollar printer?
You bet there are some. Unfortunately, those beasts are really only suitable for local sale because of their bulk and weight. Craigslist and similar sites are probably the best option, or perhaps a local university (either a tax write-off or a "salvage bin" mailing list/bulletin board). As it turns out, most offices which can afford a printer like this will buy it new, and most offices that won't pay for it new also won't pay for it used.

That would be one hefty tax write-off.

Ahhh, saying write-off reminds me of that Seinfeld episode.

"You don't even know what a write-off is, do you?"
"...No, well do you?"
"No."
"Well THEY do, and they're the ones writing it off."

Haha! As an added bonus, a donation of that scale might be worth a commemorative bench or water fountain.
