Hey everybody,
So, back when I was running Snow Leopard (now on Lion), I installed a script to run at login which would me back to the login screen. This, combined with enabling automatic login, allowed startup programs to launch before I actually started 'using' the computer. Now, however, the script has become kind of annoying, mostly because it adds about 15 seconds to my startup time (i.e. before I can log in for realzies and start using the computer).
Again, the flow is: 1. Startup Mac OS, 2. Automatic Login takes me straight to the desktop where 3. a few applications start up before 4. the script does the cube spin over to the login screen again (with a check over my name, indicating that I'm already logged on), from where I can log in and begin/resume using the computer.
I've checked in ~/Library/LaunchAgents, /Library/LaunchAgents, /Library/LaunchDaemons, /System/Library/LaunchAgents, and /System/Library/LaunchDaemons, as well as in my startup program list within System Preferences, and haven't found any indication of this script running at startup. It also doesn't appear to leave any trace of it running in the Console; I've filtered for 'login' and 'launch.' Any thoughts?
