So I'm running Mac OS X (Version 10.4.11), and I just clicked on the airport symbol on the upper right of my screen. I proceeded to click on "VPN" and then I was prompted with a message, and I clicked "continue."
Now, there's this annoying new symbol on the upper right of my screen. How can I get rid of it??

Apparently you created a VPN connection. If this is intended, you can go into System Preferences -> Network and select the VPN service. Uncheck the "Show VPN status..." box.

If you don't want the VPN service, you can delete it in the Network Pane by selecting it and clicking the "-" button at the bottom.
