General Getting rid of Battery Icon and keeping it gone

I'm now on iOS 8, and I want to get rid of the battery icon in the status bar. I've been using HideMe8 to do this, but it isn't consistent...it looks like it is gone, and then the icon starts coming back in more and more apps.

So I would like to know if anyone has a tweak they are using that is consistently getting rid of the battery icon under iOS 8.

I've been emailing the developer of hideme8 and he is working on a fix.

I did see a stand alone tweak release in Cydia the other day called Battery Percentage Only but have not tried it...
