long story short: i get a message everytime i restart that my system can't find OS 9, but everytime i try to deactivate the option in system prefs, it tells me that it can't find OS 9.... which somehow means i can't have the option to stop it from "launching." is there a manual way to stop the OS 9 script from starting up everytime?

in the startup disk system preference, try selecting your mac os x volume and restarting. see if you get that os 9 message again.
