Getting Text Dead Centre On Image In GIMP

Hi folks,

I'm having difficulty getting text dead centred on an image in GIMP. I have uploaded the image that I wish to get the text centred on - I want to make some Adobe style icons for programs. I know you can justify the text but it's still not getting the text in the centre of the circle. The align tool isn't doing it either, although I'm probably not using it right.

Any help is appreciated.
