Getting text messages on the watch from the 4S

Lets say you are using an iPhone 4S as your primary phone.However you have text message forwarding that comes through an iPhone 5.Will you get those text messages on the Apple Watch?

As I understand it, you have a 4S which forwards text messages to an iphone 5, paired to an apple watch?

I have two phones as I'm between countries. My watch is paired to a 6, but I imagine your experience on a 5 would be the same. I also have a 4S which forawrds all text messages to the 6. On sunday I received SMS messages to the 4S, which showed up on the iphone 6. They did not, however, show up on the apple watch. They probably should, but they did not for me.

Imessages would work fine though, obviously.
