Getting the iPhone 6S for self and purchase another to bring oversea

I'm currently a VZW customer with an iPhone 6 with about 10 months left on a 2-year contract.
I am on the $60/mo unlimited call+text with 2GB of data plan.

What are my options to getting the new iPhone 6S + keeping my current plan?

a) Purchase full retail price + MSN change to the new phone + sell the old phone
b) Wait for contract to be over + upgrade at subsidized price w/ 2 yr contract (may not be avail 10 months from now)
c) Others?

Also, I would like to purchase an add'l iPhone 6S to be able to bring it oversea (Asia) and gift that to someone. Obviously, the phone needs to be unlocked. What are my options?

The choice between A and B is up to you, really.

As for buying an unlocked phone, any phone you buy full price from Apple no matter what carrier it originally was will be unlocked out of the box.
