Hello. I'm currently in the process of scripting a webseries of heroes with a mixture of harpers island murder mystery etc in it however since I wont be hiring Zachary Quinto anytime soon I think I'll need to do a shadow effect where the character "Sylar" in mine is dark and you can't see him expect for his figure or sillouette.

E.G. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JltRfXAPCws Watch from 2:00 onwards and mute the audio. ;) Does this be done in editing or during shooting and if so how. XD

this mostly is Backlighting, where most of the light is behind the subject, and nothing in front, you may need to do some color correcting to balance out the levels , ie is the shadows are not quite dark enough, make them darker.

just google Backlighting for more info.
