In case anyone is wondering, I got word from the author of gfxCardStatus (nice guy, got back to me very quickly when I asked) that it does in fact work without any modification on the new MBP's. It doesn't recognize the names of the cards, and will alert you that it doesn't recognize them, but it will still properly set/switch the two gpu's. Confirmed in practice, going from discrete back to integrated and watching some media programs glitch as I switched them. The Intel 3000HD + i7 combo seems to be more than powerful enough to handle every flash video I've thrown at it, and those are the biggest culprits, I found, of switching the gpu without needing to.
