Ghost App On Home Screen

So I updated the official twitter app a little while ago and noticed this....might immediately has a "wth" moment. Anybody know how to fix this? I've tried do a restart, soft reset, uninstalling the app and going to setting to delete the app but the ghost app doesn't go anywhere.

have you tried deleting the app through iTunes?

Tried to tap it but it won't let me. The icon is darkened and won't allow any clickable actions or deletions.

Just tried to delete it through iTunes and had to delete every app because it wouldn't allow me to do so normally...weird and then got stuck in "Starting Sync".

EDIT: Had to delete all apps, eject iPhone from iTunes, soft reset phone and then connect back to iTunes to reinstall all my apps to be able to sync without getting stuck in "starting sync".

That's weird. Usually if that happens to me I just have to do a hard reset and it fixes the problem.

sorry, know it sounded dumb but i get greyed out app icons occasionally and they just go when i open them again
