Hi guys, first time posting here:cool:

So I recently replaced the digitizer panel on a Ipad 2 because the old panel was cracked. (note: I do have a lot of experience fixing various tablets, smartphones, and PDAs as a hobby)

My problem is this: since the repair, I have the dreaded "ghost touching". After about ten or fifteen minutes of regular use, the tablet will start to register phantom touches. A reboot will fix the problem, but only for about 10-15 minutes, after which the ghost starts using my Ipad again. :p
I want to sell this Ipad, which is why I have to fix the problem first (I can't sell a defective machine) I believe the replacement digitizer panel is in good working order, which leads to two questions...

(1) I have heard vague rumors that the digitizer flex cable might be in contact with the aluminum body of the tablet, causing electrical interference, which causes the ghost touching. Has anyone heard of this, and if so, is it worth going back inside the tablet to insulate the flex cable from the body?

(2) If you guys think the flex cable could the problem, can I successfully reheat my panel, peel it off, and then reheat and re-stick it back on without applying new adhesive? (I have never had to take a replacement panel off before, so I don't know if I would have to get new adhesive for it).

Thanks for any help guys and glad to finally be a member here!
