This is strange. Twice in the past two weeks, two teenagers put on outfits made from white sheets and carried a cross in front of a school bus driven by a black woman.

Supposedly, the area is associated with the KKK. The one who talked on tape said that they were just being ghosts and that the bus driver mis-interpreted the incidents.

yeah i heard about this. my impression had been they were 10-11, not teenagers... but either way, the whole "ghost" thing is such a laugh... sadly, in florida, they may get people willing to "believe" it.

this is why there are hate crime laws. psychological abuse of a bus driver by students. on racial grounds. these kids parents should be kicking their asses, but they're probably congratulating them

and i'm not knocking all floridians, just the racist pockets...

There was an incident recently also not too far from here where someone wrote racial slurs on a house and driveway and set their car afire.

I could swear it's 2004, but it feels more like 1964.

KKK alive and well in Central Florida

KKK is very much alive in Pasco County just north west of Tampa.

There have been many KKK incidents since Bush was elected.

One of the Leaders of the KKK who is a frequent guest on Howard

Stern said he and his members were voting for Bush in November.

Stern asked why, and the guy says, "he's one of us".

This was on E! when Stern did the show from Las Vegas 3 weeks
ago. :(

I can't believe sh*t like this goes on in the year 2004 for f**ks sake

The f**kin' Klan eh'...  I'd love to see their hooded arses at an ANL march. ;)

hehe, it reminds me the episode of South Park when Erick Kartman dressed like a KKK.

And the other one as Hitler. I miss South Park, I do not won a tv here :(

Ahhh, disappointing. And Ocala's not all that far from the University of Florida....new I shoulda stayed in the North....

What was the *picture* of the ghost costume about? Was that the cross? Or was that the klan robe? Didn't look much like one to me. Reminds me of that line in Forrest Gump..."My mama named me Forrest, to remind me that sometimes, people do things that just don't make no sense."

The ghost costume wasn't the cross. They didn't show the cross at all.

Don't worry, the Klan is quite active in Ephrata, Pennsylvania (saw them on the news often) and elsewhere in the north.

Actually, Cartman had dressed as Hitler, so Mr. Mackey put a sheet over him so he would become a ghost. Thing is, Cartman still had the WW1 style German helmet with the spike, resulting in him looking like a member of the KKK.

That's what the police in Ephrata, PA had to say when they were protecting the KKK parade. Sometimes, freedom just doesn't make sense.

True, true. Howell, about 80 miles from Detroit, is supposedly an outpost. They came to Ann Arbor (Univ. of Mich. town) once. But it still had the atmosphere of a hippy picnic, because outside the police fence, there weren't more than three people sympathetic to the cause.... :)

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions. ;)

But it doesn't give them the right to intimidate, threaten and attack people based on those opinions and beliefs. That is wrong.

As for the Klan...

The Klan is proof that dumb people in large groups still wield a considerable amount of power.

Besides, they get a great discount buying all that white fabric. Betsy Ross would be envious. :D

May I quote some people?

I do not agree with a word you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire

There ought to be limits on freedom! - Bush

Take your pick. :p

That's an awful odd-looking klan robe. Why the fringes? Where's the peak at the top of the hood? I think they're stretching the KKK thing, personally. Although the cross... who knows. It wasn't a FIERY cross, so I dunno about that one either. It's bizarre any way you look at it.

IT was me

ok Im looking for anyone to believe wut im going to say but i was the one that did all that **** at the bus stop with my friend b/c i was made to do it by my big sister but i was 14 and should have done the right thing im not that kind of person anymore
