How much of a performance difference is there between a 2.4 GHZ chip and say, a 2.6GHz chip?

The main use for the laptop would be Photoshop CS3/4 and Lightroom.

:)

It's likely you won't notice any difference between the two. You're more likely to get measurable performance boost from increasing RAM.

+1. Unless you're doing regular sustained serial computations that max out the processor you probably won't see a big difference. More RAM is a good idea.

not worth the price difference tbh

i mean how often do you max out your processor anyways?

Try running HandBrake while watching an episode of South Park online. HandBrake will use all the CPU it can get ahold of, and the South Park Studios player was sucking some major processor. So I would say the difference could be huge. But you are very right to ask that question.

yea i know how processor intense video work is but the same would be said for the 2.6ghz as well

i just dont think it's justified for the price. you do pay an extremely high premium for the best processors and i dont think its worth it unless you absolutely need it

Get more cores then just two faster ones.
