iPod Gift Card trouble

I got an iTunes gift card in the mail today for a present and when I scratched off the back, some of the characters got smudged and now I can get it go through on iTunes. I've been trying almost every possibility it could be.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Hi,

Have you seen this page on Apple Support:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/giftcard/

If you can't read some of the characters, you can e-mail Apple Support with the serial number and as much of the activation code as you can read and hopefully they can help.
